UW-Eau Claire Regional Conference

UWW AMA traveled to Eau Claire, WI on February 17, 2017 to attend the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Regional Conference. The Whitewater Chapter was very successful in each of the competitions held throughout the day. In Perfect Pitch, Nicole Penna placed 2nd and Nathan Pape placed 3rd. In Marketing Strategies, the team made up of Heidi Gahm, Colin Deady, Erin Nachtigall, and Megan Devroy placed 3rd. In the Mock Interview, Stephanie Mueller took home 1st. In the Cold Call Competition, Zach Artz, Trevor Raasch, Ashley Gilitzer, Matt Young, Kelsey Berchum, and Cam Neuhauser placed 1st - 6th, respectively. Great job to everyone who participated and represented Whitewater!



UW- Whitewater Regional Conference

Our conference on October 15, 2016 held four different competitions, including Perfect Pitch, Digital Marketing, Sales, and Case. The Whitewater Chapter winners from the Federated Insurance Sales Competition included, Nick Rasmussen and Kelly Tetzlaff who both took 1st place, Ashley Gillitzer, Ryan Venti, and Karlee Nimmer who tied for 2nd place, and McKayla Mehring who all tied for 3rd place among five other individuals.  In the Northwestern Mutual Perfect Pitch competition, Kelly Tetzlaff took 1st place, Michael Reichenberger and Jordan Filip both tied for 3rd, and Ryan Genthe and McKayla Mehring tied for 4th place. Congratulations to all who competed!

Aurora Regional Conference

UWW AMA traveled to Aurora, Illinois on October 1, 2016 to attend and compete in Aurora's Regional Conference. The Whitewater Chapter winners included, Kathryn Christy who took home 2nd place as well as Ryan Venti who placed 4th in the Liberty Mutual Sales Competition. Kelsey Berchem took 2nd in the Cintas Perfect Pitch Competition. Nice work Whitewater!


UW-Whitewater Campus-Wide Perfect Pitch Competition

This is a skill that every marketing professional needs to develop. While not truly a sales-specific role-play, the Perfect Pitch competition is a 90 second pitch in which the contestant positions themself as being "right for the job." Each contestant imagines that they unexpectedly just met their potential employer and wants to take things farther in the hiring process. Like an elevator pitch competition, the goal is to provide 2-3 key selling points for why you are an ideal candidate and then support these qualifications with examples. And of course, the end goal is to get hired (close the deal).  

This competition was open to all students at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Our 1st place winner was Karlee Nimmer and 2nd place went to Ryan Venti.
